I shot some video for a local tattoo shop yesterday and took headshots of the owner and artists and am putting together a shot to hang in the shop. What do you think of what I did? Any suggestions? It will end up being a 12x36 print hanging inside above the door.

Looks great to me. The bright spots on the faces look a tad too hot, if you had the latitude to tone them down a smidge, but it's no biggie, especially given the subject occupation :-)

No suggestions at all. I think its fantastic as it is and can imagine it will look amazing in situ at the tattoo shop. Great work.

Looks good. However if it were me, I would at the very least make the "T" in studio look more like a "T". Right now it just looks like fire and so it's hard to read that first word as studio. Also, I'd find a way to make the "I" in Ink viewable as well but that might mess with the balance of the image.

I think you have done an excellent job and that they will love it.
My only query would be the size of the people in the composition.
Have you kept them true to size as the third and fourth person seem very large (but maybe they are that big).

Thank you. I did keep it to scale one of the guys is huge and one is very tiny but I wanted to keep it as close to accurate as possible.

thats a great shot, although i would try to add some more black space to the top of the image, seems a bit off balance. also maybe try to make the studio name a bit more pronounced, right now you have to struggle to make it out.

you are really close, well done.

Looks great, I am also sure the client will love it. If it was to be used for advertising, I would agree with making the Studio 7 ink clearer, but since the client and customers know the name of the shop, it works for the intended purpose. Well done!

Thanks everyone, I am going to tweak this a bit this evening using some of the suggestions. I think I am going to change the aspect ratio as well. I'll post the updated shot here when I am done.

Made a few changes. To include the text the other aspect ratio wan't cutting it. I may have to add a couple more artists to the shot so it will likely be reworked again.

I think I prefer the second one, mainly for the writing. Not sure if you should crop some off the bottom or not? Either way they're going to love it!

I also prefer the second version... The qualities are similar, and has the added bonus of clearly identifying the business.

I know this may sound strange, but the reflections at the bottom almost give it a "boardroom" effect with the owners being the "Chairs" of the board as it may.

Just another man's view.

Definitely the second one. The guy on the far right looks like he's being pressed against the "table" though. It's probably generally unnoticeable. Nice job with the text, I really like it.

Here is the finished product for those who are interested.

Very nice job -- you've even got people looking off in all directions just like in a real group shot ... very natural-looking!
