Have any of you heard of these Mud Obstacle Courses? Mud, Sweat & Beer - Prison Break here are some listings from YouTube as to what this is....

Well, I've been in contact with the organizers. And they are going to let me in to take pictures from a pre-determined vantage point (safe and protected from the snipers...or so I hope), the wk before the run.

I've asked them if they would like to have any other photographers there (besides myself)...I have not gotten the answer yet, but I wanted to put this out there IF anyone might be interested in going with me...so that if you are interested you can make a plan to get here. It isn't until Jun 9th.

I have a friend that ran one of these courses and it's "TOUGH". Done on 30 +/- acres of land through the "swamps and mud"...plus they are going to have paintball snipers hidden throughout the course to "pick off" the prison escapees...it sounds like a lot of fun...

I'm going to go there the wk before when they are setting up the course so I can pick a good spot to be in. I'll give them copies of the photos to use(provided I get something decent...pfffttt) for me this is more for experience than pay. I don't know if they have a model release form in the application/entry form (which I will find out about) but they are going to let me in and see the course before hand. This just sounds like fun...

My neighbor ran it, I was going to try but my knees are shot and can't run. It does look like fun.

Looks like a lot of fun Janine. You mentioned that you are going to check the course out to claim a good spot...but you might want to consider teaming up with one or two of the 'snipers' - that way you can capture not just the action of the bikers who are riding the course but also that of the paintball sniper (and maybe even capture both paintball sniper and biker in the shot). The other bene is that you would not be alone out on the course and with being next to the paintball sniper most likely you will not get accidently fired upon.

well, there is that...I would be the deepest of the Color Purple if I got hit by a paintball...I shutter to think of it...so you can bet that I'll know where the snipers are and that they are pointing AWAY from me!!!

these people (contestants) will be on foot...not bikes - it's a run/crawl/jump course...a real foot obstacle course.
