No idea what I've done here but was setting up my flashguns and can't stop the 580EX from flashing in the control panel. Am sure this has happened before but can't remember how I stopped it. Am on manual an want to change the power but it's not letting me.

Had the batteries out but that made matters worse and reset it to full power lol

I don't have the 580ex, but check if the diffuser panel is fully seated in the flash head. Also check to make sure it is not in off camera strobe mode.
Just some ideas....
Not sure if it will help...

I don't have my 580 with me either, but flashing LCD could also mean it is set as a Master that does not fire (maybe turn that setting off). Keep in mind that this setting would still look like the master is firing but it would not be outputting much at all.
