| I am back home on my desktop computer and have a weird "sticky" mouse problem. The same mouse on the same mousepad gets sticky on the desktop while this does not happen on the laptop. They both run Windows 7. By "sticky" I mean that the mouse cursor keeps on freezing, runs OK for a bit and then suddenly stops and I cannot move it for a while. Then it starts again. I suspect one of the background processes causes it but I have no idea which one. Any ideas? |

In my case the whole computer froze for a second or two every minute or so. The culprit was the sound card I had at the time. An old Creative Soundblaster something. If I remember correctly it fixed itself when I put the sound card in another slot inside the computer. |

| check the task manager for any applications that are hogging the processor in spurts at the time it happens. |

| check the windows event viewer too.... |
