Well, it'll keep people from being so LITERAL anyway :-) I wonder if I can find an old Dodge Dart and somewhere to set it on fire?

talk about the irony here. hmmm... think, think, think. what shall I come up with?
this will be an interesting challenge... I haven't entered minimal yet...
if I get 4s and 5s in advanced, the brown will surely be mine in this challenge

In minimal it's legal to use on camera monochrome, correct?

Yes it's legal. Also a straightforward desaturation in PS.

This is gonna be a difficult one.

I guess the first task on my list should be a sensor clean! I have several ideas just not sure if I can pull any of them off.
03/30/2012 10:05:11 AM · #13
i have an idea, but i dont know if i feel like setting it up to do it.

Sounds like a good time for a review of the camera manual. Tons of bells & whistles (features) available "in-camera" now. :-)

From the Minimal editing ruleset.

You may: use any feature of your camera while photographing your entry, with the exception of combining multiple captures in-camera.

Can we shoot RAW+Jpeg and then submit only the Jpeg? Is there any feature of this on camera mode that can result in a DQ?

Even if I will submit the Jpeg I would like to have a raw file for futher editing after the end of the challenge.

Ok, I can. I've read the rules more carefully ;)
03/31/2012 01:58:23 PM · #19
crap. i set the whole shot up, captured the perfect picture and realized i shot shot raw only.

i hate minimal.

oh c'mon... i think the spirit of the Minimal rules is to set up, frame, and capture the shot without all the electronic hocus-pocus, regardless if it is in-camera or pp. so it's more about the subject than the processing

i do love the choice of Minimal for this particular challenge

I've been waiting for this kind of challenge for months!

We are photographers, we can show that it's not only a matter of Photoshop. ;)

Submitted. It will be interesting to see peoples take on this.

Can't pull off my main idea but have a couple of backups, need to clean the sensor again as I seem to have just pushed the spots into one place. Am enjoying the exercise and (maybe) it will save pp time in the future :)

Use the Lensbaby at f/2.0 and the dust will magically disappear :-)

Funny you should say that, dug it out just the other day and dusted it off, using that should get my mojo back :)
