I've done it and managed not to record my last 12 votes in Macro V so I reckon I've beaten the dpc strange but true fascination with scores.

This is my home record and I keep a similar one at work. please tell me I'm not the saddest dpc member? I even thought of submitting a similar (but better) pic to a fitting challenge.

btw, current results ..

Thats 12 votes without me recording any, I saw each one go through so does that mean I'm cured and can concentrate on taking pictures rather than calculating my average?
I'm now turning my attention to comments so thanks to the magnificent 7 :)

This is a tragedy - and your image depicts the ramblings, doodles and scribbles of an utter madman. You have my deep pity and I wish your family and friends the very best of luck.

Would sending flowers be appropriate? lol

No, thorazine I think is more appropriate... LOL ;o)

Your average psychologist could make a career out of that one page.

Have you learned nothing from the Enron scandal? I check my scores at least as often as you, but I don't write them down.

And don't wander the streets alone . . . I am worried for you ;o) Make sure you PM one of us each day to let us know where you'll be going, who you'll be seeing . . . and we'll warn them!

Congratulations on your exorcism. I rate it an 8. Would have been better if were sharper and had greater DOF. Try shooting at f/1.2 and using Neatimage. Also, look at Ecce Signum's pictures on how to shoot DPC exorcisms. (I hope you're not him.)

Perhaps it's an age thing, I have a little book just like yours setting next to my computer, Andi. If I don't write the scores down when I check them I can't remember what it was the last time when I check it again; so, I can't tell if it's gone up or down.

Here's mine:

I'm not cured. I have an excel sheet that automates the last score received and the fluctuation from the last vote.

BradP - I like the little arrows on yours that show if the score has gone up or down!

It's sad but I have a database built with a few scripts running on my computer to trace all the challenges I have entered. Believe me it's not a good idea because you actually know it when someone gives you a 1!!

(# of votes x this average) - (# of votes x last average) = the vote you just received.

From my spreadsheet above:

@ 5pm I had 151 votes and 6.2358 ave
@ 5:23PM 152 votes and 6.2566 ave

so
(152 x 6.2566 = 951.00) - (151 x 6.2318 = 941.00) = 10

Also, between 2:39 and 5pm, there were 5 votes cast, 8.19988 is the average of those 5 votes.

Oh, thanks to the voter who just gave my macro a 10!

Its the rush of an 8,9 or even a ten (sometimes) that keeps me going, then you get the 1's 2's & 3's and it becomes personal and upsetting, or used to cos I don't do that anymore do I?

no you don't!

Sue, you don't want to go there, bad girl for even asking!
