Woo hoo! I won first prize in another national competition!
Last time I won £1000 worth of photography equipment vouchers (which I used to buy my 300D) with this self portrait:
This time I won with another self portrait. It was an outtake from this challenge entry:
My submission was almost the same, with just a slightly different expression.
My prize is great! I won these:
An iPod
A Portable DVD Player
A New Nokia Phone
A New State of the Art Digital Camera
I can't actually remember what the camera is, lol, but I did start a thread a month or so back posting a picture of it asking what model it is. Faidoi identified it for me but now I've forgotten and can't find the thread :P I'll let you know when I recieve the prizes and I'll add the camera to my profile :)
Anyway, I just wanted to share the news, yay :D

Oops! Forgot to say... I love the portraits. They are both fantastic story-tellers!
On that 2nd portrait, explain to me how you got the two images of you in there.

I wrote how I did this in the details section of the photo in quite a bit of detail, but basically I just used the 6sec exposure on my G2. I took it in my bedroom with the curtains closed and so it was totally dark. I then put the lamp on my face for a second, then turned it off. Following that I moved to the new position and put the lamp on for a second again. That resulted it me appearing in the photo twice :)

It was an online competition, run by need2know, which I think is set up by the government... I'm not sure. I've yet to enter any actual print contests and don't even know what any of my photos look like in print (except 1 or 2 4x6s I've printed off). I think I'm going to enter the BBC Countryfile competition though.

Ya know, I'm one of those people for whom the old saying, "If it was a snake, ida bit'cha!" was created. (Now you gotta read that quote with a Texas drawl to get it right)
Anyway, I didn't get the 'turning out the light' part so thank you for explaining ;-D |

Here's the thread. UK always has the coolest photo contest listed in the magazines/periodicals.

Thats another competition I won yeah, hehe :)
Do you remember the thread where I posted a photo of a camera, and couldn't figure out what it was, then you told me what camera it was? That's the camera I won, but I don't know what one it is anymore :P
