Hi.

I just popped up my website. It would be helpful to get some feedback on it if you can spend a minute or two.
//www.robbinn.com

Thanx.
Marvin

My first reaction to the website was "What does that say?" in regards to the stylized "Robbinn". I looked at the URL and figured it out, but then didn't understand why you chose that name when your name in the copyright is different. Perhaps you could throw something into the "About me" section as to why.

The website has an easy flow to it, and all links seemed to work. I did find an error (or a few) in the "About me" section. I won't pick on the grammar errors, but this statement is kind of a dead end.

"...feel free to contact me through the below email" - There's no email listed.

Looks very nice Marvin. You have a couple of grammatical errors in your "about" section. As an example: Your line, "My name is Robert Marvin Gislason and I am a software engineer. Though I am a computer geek, my only intrest arent just computers."

Sounds a bit better when it is written like this (and still retains your style) "My name is Robert Marvin Gislason and I am a software engineer. Although I am a computer geek, computers are not my only interest."

Very nice. I concur with the font for your name - a bit illegible. Also, why put a graphic as the background when it's a perfect opportunity to showcase one of your images?

I agree with all of that. i thought that the design of the name wasn't as professional as it could be. Also the picture that you used for the 'about me' page, i think could be better. i have a question, are you using this as a professional site? or just another avenue to show case your work?

Besides those things, i think that the navigation is easy, its a nice layout.

I thought about it and I have some candidates for a background. Just need to try them out first :)

A few things from a Designer's perspective:

Ditch the sparkles and the blue outer glow, the metallic will read fine if you do. Also, please kern the letters R & O and the two Ns. Thank you.

Rearrange your elements, put the links in the sidebar up top and use more of your real estate to show off your photography.

Your phone number should be EVERYWHERE. Don't make people hunt it, they will give up quickly.

Do you really need sub-categories for each category? Just choose your best 20 or so images and make it one-click friendly.

Why are people logging in? Do you have a forum? Are you going to have private galleries? If so, okay leave it. If not, I suggest you ditch it.

You may consider changing the login link to Photos or just have thumbnails on the homepage for each gallery.

Just a few things :)

Your photos are beautiful, let them shine.

ETA: Try to line things up as much as possible as well, it is more pleasing aesthetically. Example of this is your about me page, your photo should come to the top and bottom of the text wrapped around it.

This is very helpful. I just changed the logo and edited the about page as suggested. It looks better already. :)
