I'm in Oshawa and looking for some people that get out frequently to take pictures. I'd love to meet up with some people, any level of skill, as I don't know any local photographers. I'm pretty much a beginner in outdoor photography.

There are defintiely members in TO and the GTA. Go to the Community menu on the toolbar, scroll down to Photographer Profiles. On the right hand side is a Location field. Enter Toronto and you should get quite a few hits. Good luck! :-)

Aperture_Ready - I am definitely going to check out the tutorials. I think they will help for sure

Alexrad - I've very familiar with Camp 30, I've been all through the grounds and buildings. Urban exploring is another hobby of mine, one that I have been doing a lot longer then photography and I'm a lot better at it. =)

Lol. I figured you would if youre fron the Shwa. My girlfriend lives in Oshawa so I'm always shooting things up around there, I usually go with a friend of mine and we go hunting around for fun things to shoot. I'm going to set up a shoot in an abandon house I found with some type of model.....just got my lights :) it'll be my first time trying to shoot a scene so it should be fun.....just waiting on some better weather. I'll let you know when if ya wanna tag along.

Sounds good Alex. A friend of mine (he just likes to explore not take pictures) and I hit up all sorts of abandoned buildings in this area and quite often do day trips to other locations. He researches all sorts of ghosts towns, unusual places to explore, he has a real talent for finding the forgotten. We've been to a jail, a mansion, 3 schools, a handful of churches, dozens of houses and homesteads. My biggest regret is not taking a camera with me more often, and when I did not bringing a tripod. Live and learn.

Ya they are amazing things to see for sure. And ya, always need a tripod!, there are so many of them around the Pickering area because of that proposed airport. Next time we go downtown Toronto I'll let cha know if you wanna come with.

Thanks, I would like to tag along!

Just be careful in the Pickering area, security is very tight there, especially now since the torture house was torched. If you are ever in that area and you get pulled over, say you are going to the Mill cemetery, they haven't moved it yet and they can't prevent you from going there until they do!

I am in Toronto too, but travel extensively for work. So, if something is planned in advance, I may be able to participate.

I'm also in Toronto. Photography and running are the only two things my wife gives me leniency with, so I should be good if you're looking for bodies.
