Every week I find myself with the same question: "I like this one but wich one will score higher with the community?"

Do you find yourselves asking the same question?

Do you think there is a way to outguess the voters? Do they share a patern?

And most important, do you submit what you like best or what you think will DO best?

Just thinking...

If its sharp with nice even lighting and it belongs in a nature callendar, then it will probably do well, I fight with my self often as to whitch photo to submit, I have noticed a patern with the voters, but you have to remember that a good portion of the voters are non technical so the rules of photography go out the window. Although I like when non techinical people vote on my picture since I really have no idea what im doing.

I submit for myself ... If i like the photo ... I will submit it ... and I keep in mind that it's a bonus if everyone else likes it too - Like I've said in a previous post - This site is for fun and that's how i think about it :o)

Good question. I find myself doing the same thing. This week I included a particular element in my photo because I thought it would do better and as it turned out that single element is getting mixed reviews. Even though some thought they liked it better with the element added I am guessing that those same people would have still liked it if that element was not there to even consider. I tried to guess what the response would be and I am preety sure I guessed wrong. When I look at the picture I find myself being more and more distracted by that one element instead of enjoying the rest of the photo. So I am going to try not to guess how my photo will do, instead I will just try to create a great photo. Just aim for the bullseye and try not to worry about whether you will make it or not.

the hard part is when you like a lot of your photos and you can't decide which one you like best

does anyone else ever have that problem? ? ? ?

More so this week (if I ever finish voting).
Last week was more the opposite -- and I probably picked the worst of three but didn't have time to change...

I have only participated in two challenges, so it's still soon for me to have a feel of how the community votes as a pattern. I instinctively believe there are two types of positions, both of which are absolutely valid, since we are participating in a project that both permits the exhibition of our work, and is also a competition: the ones that target the first place, and the ones that feel ready to subject their liking to the rest of the participants. I personaly prefer the second.

I also have to mention that we are presently answering a comment posted by a devil...

I submit for the fun of it, therefore I vote higher on an image that pleases me as opposed to an image that may be technically perfect but I find lacking in interest.

I admit I have been swayed by the "what will they say about this" notion.... especially at 11:45PM Eastern Time- "Oh no! Should I switch my submission?". I send my stomach into knots and then say. "Oh, heck. Don't get so worked up, and go to sleep!" :0)

Yes I do. I occasionally will have multiple images where I find one image very appealing but some people I ask don't like it.

Do you think there is a way to outguess the voters? Do they share a patern?

I submit mostly for myself. But I like getting high scores when I they'll give them to me.
