Well, count on you to find the anomalous result, my only FS result in single digits. Here's all my FS finishes from 2009 to present; I'm not even gonna try to list the first 4 years...

202, 108, 429, 294, 187, 271, 37, 321, 18, 84, 125, 13, 52, 179, 80, 154, 172, 92, 288, 67, 171, 58, 78, 225, 94, 155, 136, 21, 93, 125, 258, 6, 186...

Top-50 finishes bolded :-) I guess it's not pathetic, but I sure won't win any marathons unless I lift my game to the next level :-)

Great news! I only need to average around 12.7 in the next two FS's to have a chance at any of those prizes =)
11/14/2011 05:05:15 PM · #18
Exciting! No chance for me, but I like to see the battle between the potential winners :)

Taking a page from Robert, my placings in FS's have been (in reverse chronological order):

138, 104, 191, 33, 216, 209, 165, 165, 188, 206, 326, 28, 14, 2, 62

Submissions = 15
Avg. Place = 136
Std. Deviation of Place = 93

Only one top-ten finish, and that in 2004, LOL! Nonetheless, I have gone and signed up, which hopefully will help motivate me to submit!

I think that this is a fabulous way to stimulate interest in the Free Studies, and I'm glad to see Scott's selfless efforts rewarded with "sponsorship" by DPC. Thanks L!

ETA:
I had to compare Robert's summary statistics to mine. For Robert's data listed in his post above:

Submissions = 33
Avg. Place = 145
Std. Deviation of Place = 100

So while he's submitted to more FS's than I have, our placement statistics are not that much different. I actually think his overall data include far more FS's than what he listed though ;-)

Yes I will take care of it for you.

The new rules will be posted soon. It's not going to be a major change; mostly clarification. And explaining about the gift certificates.

I would like for everyone to thank Bear_Music, who is currently proof reading the rules to make sure every thing is clear and precise.

Thanks everyone and thanks Robert.

Just to clarify. DPC is not sponsoring the gift certificates, I will be purchasing them for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers of the 2012 FSM. I don't say this to take credit, only to make sure everyone know that DPChallenge.com is not responsible for any errors or omission and does not warranty any claims.

Landon did give me the OK through Shannon to offer Gift Certificates.

I missed out on 2011 FSM (I was a newbie then and did not know it existed). I have participated in 10 FSs so far: 15-131-57-6-29-11-52-23-59-158
Ave = 54
I am participating in FSM because I'd like to be sure I enter at least one challenge per month and make time for that.

Scott, you are awesome! :)

Good-o, I like your stuff.
