Joey Lawrence just announced the launch of "release me" - an iPhone app.

Looks pretty cool, but the slacker doesn't have an Android version. >:/

very cool.

I have been designing an app similar to this but it does much more. Essentially its a studio assistant app. it helps you designate what lights to use and where you want to place them.
essentially like this right here, but on your phone or tablet device.

you could then make a list of models and assistants and even other props needed. Then you can email the document with any instructions that you might have to whoever you want so that everyone is in the loop on it.
it would even have a gps location for your shoot.

Oh, and the model release option as well.

Who would want an app like that?

if I were a better developer and didnt have school crap to deal with, I would have it first on the droid platform. then maybe the apple platform lol

best part of it is, it would be a free app.

But whatever you do , do not advertise it on a black background with white writing. My eyes are still seeing weirdly from reading several pages on his App!!

There are several Apple Apps and Android Apps of this kind.

My brothers old high school friend has this one.

On a slightly different note, it is amazing to me the amount of developers that make an app for the iPhone but do not make an Android version. When you consider the sheer volume of phones that run Android it just seems weird if not idiotic.

There are many apps for Android. But I see what you mean. I'd say that if someone made a good app for Apple then why not make it for Android at the same time or soon after? I know that there are some out there on both platforms but in general it seems like Apple gets the ink.

My guess is that it is two different types of programing/coding to be done. Maybe just because you know one, you may not know the other.

IOS is written in Objective C while Android runs off of Java.
Both arent all that complex, although I never have the time to learn how to develop.

I do predict that Android will overtake the IOS and quickly. They have more phones and companies
and the fact that they are completely open source and you dont need to jump through all the hoops that you have
to do for apple's Appstore
