Hi Everyone!
I took a digital photography class in college many moons ago and loved it. I have found that left to my own devices I don't take many photos. So, I'm very happy to have found this website! The challenges are really motivating for me. I'm super impressed by the photos I've seen so far and hope to get the creative juices flowing again.

I've learned a tremendous amount by participating in challenges here over the past five years, including how helpful and friendly random strangers from around the world can be.
Just so you get used to the typical scoring, and don't think it's just you:
5.5+: perfectly decent score
6+: good score
6.5+: very good score (many have never hit this score)
7+: fantastic score (I'd bet most have never hit this score; I've hit it once in 200+ tries)
I've participated in many scoring sites, and DPC's scores are by far the lowest. On the other hand, you'll get honest critique and suggestions, not just "oooh, awesome!"
You'll also learn a lot by voting and especially by commenting - thinking through what works for you in another person's image and what doesn't can help you define what you what you want to do with your own shots.
So dive in and get to know us! :)

But... Yes, there's a "but" and it seems that until now, nobody had the guts to tell you about it.
So I feel obligated warning you: this site is ADDICTING!!! Very soon you will notice you can't spend a day without it.
