Would your vote have changed if I had titled my photo differently?
I just called it "Red red wine" because I didn't think the title was important - never entered photo contest you see.
But if I had named it "Where's tweety bird?" or as someone suggested "Traces of romance" would your vote have changed?

No, I don't think the title would have mattered. I think we are still looking at the quality of the photos no matter what the title says. That is why my picture with a catchy title can't do anything for the poor quality. I'm glad that it is that way though. We should be voting for the quality and interpretation of the topic. |

Traces of Romance might make me lower my vote. ;) Sorry sorry! |

A very cleverly thought out title may help in slightly raising your score, but I can't imagine voters giving too many marks just for a good title - maybe a good title is worth half a mark?
Looking at past challenges, the title certainly wasn't the reason for a photo winning ... it was the quality of the shot that was appreciated by the voters
3rd place for the macro challenge didn't even have a title

There's a difference between a DESCRIPTIVE and/or CUTE title and a INTROSPECTIVE title, I think. Often, if you don't look at the title, you'll have no idea what the photographer is insinuating. I personally would have given a higher mark if you had labeled it Traces of Romance--It interprets red as a color of love/emotion/etc. Red Red Wine, I imagine, reminds me of getting drunk and...
Er. You know. |

So I'm getting the feeling it's not a big deal, but it might influence your vote by half a point either way depending on how it helps you interpret the photo. Interesting. |
