Hi all... I'm in the process of putting together a website to showcase my photography. My domain name is Think in Digital. I created a logo that will reside on the index page along with navigation stuff, as well as a scaled down "home" icon from various galleries. i will also use it on my business cards or any other printed material that I might use for marketing purposes. So I would really appreciate your opinions on it...

Does it work for you? Like it? Hate it? Tell me what you think.

Of course, I'm not wed to the logo so if you have any other ideas that you think would be cool don't be shy. If I use your idea, I'll compensate with a free 8X10 print of your choice from any gallery on my website.

As always, I appreciate your input!

While its not bad, I am not a big fan. I dont get why you have the copyright symbol in the corners and there are too many colors. I don't like how you can barely see any of your pictures. Are you trying to make it look like a folder? Or a box with pictures in it?

Since its a logo, it has to work big and small, like 60 x 60 for the web, maybe smaller for your business cards. I don't think your logo will look good small, since as it is now, I can't even read the lower corner without clicking on the link to see the large image.

I design webpages and I think when I have to design a logo, thats the hardest part so good luck.

Here, I made this up quick, someone could make it better I am sure, I made it in 3 minutes.

Sorry, if this isn't what you wanted to hear.
Ryan

I think you can work from what you have now to develop a simpler, more scalable logo. First, get rid of the jagged edge in the front, it doesn't add anything to the logo.

The Copyright symbol (while very nice as a logo in itself) is too busy and will not scale very well unless you keep it separate from the background. It would work fine scaling on it's own, if you're careful with the text.

Try thinking in greyscale, even if you plan to use color all the time. Choose images for the folder/box that are clearly distinguishable and identifiable in greyscale, and the loge will automatically scale better. Stick to one shape, simple is good, either sqaure shapes like the photos and folder/box, or circles like the copyright logo.

Remember that you don't have to include the name of the site in the logo, it should stand on its own, like DPC's, Windows', or Mac's logo. You will presumably have the name of your site on your business card, so make the logo a different creature.

Logo's especially for business cards or just anything you would use for business purposes should be a bit simpler. Name and a Small design maybe. Your logo has so many things going on in it, it simply just wouldnt work that way.

For the web it would work, if used correctly.

Check out most BIG Corporation logos, hell even most small companies have little logos you can get an impression from. Just be Original and Keep it simple.

Don't apologize, Ryan! I DID ask for your honest opinions after all! So many times, when one creates something like this, they get to emotionally attached to it to really view it objectively - know what I mean.

Thank you all for your very helpful comments!
