Hi I have a Canon 60D and after taking photos for a while (no flash) I have it on continuous H .. and about when I get to 250 to 300 shots the camera will take like 3 pics then say busy for what seems like a long time.. 5 to 7 seconds at least.. why is this happening? is it overheating? do all canons or cameras do this? what do I need to do? let it cool for 15 mins or a certain amount of time? Please help this is sooooo annoying and I have lost alot of great shots because of it!!!

I have a Canon 1000d, and it does the same thing, often after only about 20 or 30 shots. . .especially if I am shooting in quick succession (Also without the flash). I have always assumed this was due to the camera taking time to write to the card. I know my unit is no where near as advanced as yours, but this is certainly something I am curious about.

I had that problem yesterday with the 7D, when I was using the onboard flash. It was busy for about 7 seconds after each shot. When I used a hotshoe flash, I didn't have the problem. And I've never had the problem without the flash.

Are you using a fast card?

Oh Man... This is not good. You're going to have to go and by a DSLR Camera Heat Sink! That can be pretty expensive, but it does keep the camera cool during operation.

You can save a little money and make one out of cooler foam and a CPU fan.
