Ok -- I've decided on my backdrop support, so that's all set.

I'm ordering a black muslin backdrop. But I've been reading the reviews of the white muslin and all of the complaints about how wrinkled it gets, how the wrinkles show up in the photo unless you have nice strong lighting (I don't). And I'm wondering whether I should be getting white paper instead of white muslin.

What's your experience? Which do you prefer?

Between paper and muslin, I'd choose paper. That being said, there's a third choice. I use the painted backside of a piece of vinyl flooring. It's durable. It's seemless. When it gets dirty you can paint it again. You can change colors for the cost of a can of paint...

What kind of paint works best for this? Do you roll up the vinyl for location use, or is it most set up in once place all the time? (wondering if the paint holds up well when you roll it up)

I use the cheapest flat paint that Walmart carries. I leave it setup in a studio, so I'm not sure about portability.

There's also PVC. I love it.

Get both. They have different looks.
