I've been trying to find a description to explain what this challenge is about but can't find it. How do I know what's suitable to submit if I can't even work out what the topic means?
03/30/2011 01:49:42 AM · #2
In the Free Study, you are allowed to submit whatever you want, as long as you took it in that month. There is no challenge guideline.
Most people submit what they consider either their best or their favorite image they took during that month.

Don't listen to Fiora, Free Study means you have to enter a picture of someones den or office in a non-communist country.

Wrong again. The "F" is a typo. It's actually Tree Study - take a photo of someone studying a tree.

Oh Art you dork.

The Y is silent. It's "Free Stud" -- Either a classic Calvin Klein model shoot, or a woody.

I missed that part, but the F is still a typo, so it must be Tree Stud - photograph a Lumberjack

If it is a Free Study, why do i need to pay for membership to participate?

The F must indeed be a typo then.

:)

It doesn't say Free Entry... You can study all you want, no charge, but if you want to enter your study, you'll have to pay.

Lumberjacks are quite rare to photograph: They sleep all night and they work all day.

I thought they put on women's clothing and hang around in bars...

I'm so confused!

Methinks some folks might better spend their time taking pictures!

Why? My jokes and thread titles fare better here than my photos :)

I'm happy to see this thread. I thought it said "Flea Study" and the little devils kept jumping out of the frame when I tried to photograph them.

Put them in the fridge for a while first, then they'll stay still. That's what Roz does with her robberflies. The contents of the fridge in her house must really gross out her family. ("MOOOOMMMM!! Is this taco meat or bugs in the red plastic container?")

I thought it was a flem study, but then I realized that it would have been spelled phlegm. I was so relieved!!

I think Jeffrey Dahmer tried to use that excuse in court.

That's the other reason I never enter them, my wife keeps taking them out of the refrig, and giving them back to the dog. I figured Roz would take the blue in a Flea Study anyway, so what's the use ? : )

I'm not sure I'd want 100 pictures of the things mentioned in this thread... phlegmy lumberjacks with fleas just don't do it for me.
