So a friend of mine just brought around his stash of cameras that he has picked up around the place.

There is a 1903 Kodak camera that is surrounded by leather, and then it goes into the leather case.

it is looking a little dry right now , so I suggested that he feed the leather ,.

So what do you guys think would be the best product to use on the camera case and body of the lens. (He also has these other Brownies that need feeding)

After a cleaning with a mild soap, if the leather is stiff I would use either lanolin oil if its sealed leather, or neats foot oil if its open pored. With both it is a wipe on, wipe off operation, repeated several times so it doesn't have the chance to pool. Both are components in various saddle soap recipes but without the sealing wax that saddle soap has. Once the leather is hydrated again, use the saddle soap to keep it up.

Talk to the people at the local tack or leather shop. Go to the experts, not the amateurs above.
