Is it me or is there a lack of comments in this challenge. My photo is doing worse than I expected but out of 130 voters only one has commented. I would love to find out why my photo is getting lower than anticipated scores.

Advertisment is the second challenge I have entered. Extraordinary didn't go down that well (finished 262nd place with a score of 4.082), but I did receive 14 comments on that one. This time I have shot something I feel will be more in line of what people appreciate in here. So far I am sitting at 6.26XXX after 145 votes, and I have gotten 13 comments. I appreciate all the feedback I have gotten; it's a great way to learn and improve!

Hi auduna

Its only my 3rd challenge but I now have 162 votes and only 1 comment! Maybe they don't know why but don't really like it.

I love comments good bad or otherwise at least that way I can learn instead of spectulating (sp).

Cheers
Bob

Hmmm... I have a respectable 7 comments.
I think my entry did spark a few replies from the oldschool photogs though.

145 votes, 4 comments, and 5.66. It's a mid-range score so I wouldn't expect a lot of comments. Don't really understand all the two's I've been getting but then again I don't understand most of the voters.

I think more people comment on the photos they think are the better ones. Which is fine, but the ones that are average or below are the ones who really need comments not the really good ones. As I get better at photography I will leave more comments. My problem is I really don't want to tell someone "You did this wrong." or "You should have done this a different way." if I can't do it better myself.

I have voted on every image (except mine of course) and commented on 57. Trying to emulate TooCool and comment on all, but it's takes a lot of time. As I look at the images I commented on, they are skewed about 2/3 in the top third, and 1/3 in the bottom third so far. I'll try to get to you.

How can you see how many of each score you've gotten, I see the average, but no breakdown.

I've voted on all, but only commented 4. This is my first challenge though, so I'm still learning and don't know enough to be helpfull yet in most cases.

You can't see that until after the challenge is over, then all you have to do is click on your photo.

This is the first challenge I have entered. 164 votes and only one comment with an average score of 4.52. I guess with that midline score I should not expect many comments. I tried to comment on many but mainly focused on the top and bottom tiers. Hope people here understand that the comments are purely form my own perspective, as I'm only an amateur!

You can't see them exactly but you can get a pretty good idea. For example as a non-member the scores are updated each hour. On a few occasions, in the space of an hour I've only had one vote. Working out what number is required to get you from the average you had last hour to the average you have this hour you can determine what the vote is likely to have been. There are of course ways that this can be wrong. For example someone or some people who previously voted on your image could have changed their vote(s) during that hour. That could make the vote seem higher, lower, or even the same as it actually was. So, in the end it's a hunch, that's about it.
