So I strolled into my local camera shop today to buy a cokin P series ND grad and my guys tells me that he has heard that Cokin is going bankrupt and that they haven't recieved any filters from them since before Christmas. Can anyone attest to this? i just bought my P filter holder too and can't even find any ND grads online... they are completely out-of-stock. I'm a little peeved to say the least.

Sigh... There are so many victims left in the wake of a bankruptcy! Please, if you own a small corporation, or even a mega-corporation, would you please manage your money with integrity! Pay your bills on time. Don't borrow more than you can pay back. And be sure to keep that balance sheet in the black! Your share holders will thank you! The citizens will also thank you for keeping the government from considering those tempting bailouts!

I thank you.

Cokin has had distribution issues for years. At least that's the impression I get whenever I go looking for cokin stuff.

Here's their website: //www.cokin.fr/

Maybe look at the contact page for the US distributor if you really are desperate. Also, I think Lee makes filters that can be made to fit the cokin holder though are probably more expensive.

Yep (to distribution issues), especially on ND Grad Filters. And yes on other brands available that fit the 'P' filter holder.

I used to buy the cokin plastic, but they scratched so easily. Even though they are cheap, they were not worth it.

I bought a hitech (plastic) GND filter a few years ago, and it's still going strong. Even though it's fallen several times, including into a stream bed.

It cost only twice the Cokin cost.

Try 2filter.com. Great place, good service. Also, if you want Cokin, seems like they still have lots. "2filter has been told a large Cokin shipment to
the USA will be coming in January 2011"

But check out the hitech filter instead.

Here's a link to the page of Cokin P compatible hitech filters: //www.2filter.com/prices/Hitech/HitechP.html

Sadly, the shareholders do not encourage, nor support responsible companies. They flock to the company currently posting the best profits, even if they are based on decisions that will be harmful in the long run. They support companies that lay off their neighbors and send jobs to other countries, in order to make a little more money, because the shareholder looks for short term gains and highest returns. Too many companies have been pushed into bad decisions, trying to compete for investor dollars.

How many times has Donald Trump gone broke with shareholder's money? Yet they still flock to him hoping to be the ones to get the big payday.
