386 submission and only 137 votes so far ????

I would expect most people who have submitted also to participate in voting, so I am surpised about the low number of votes so far.

Only two more days to go.

I'm at 140, and was wondering the same thing. My extraordinary entry has about twice as many votes! Both are doing okay though, so I'm not about to complain!

Hello! I am brand new here and read somewhere that there are directions on what to look for when you place a vote. I am unable to locate those direction in the FAQ section of this site. I for one would never consider casting a vote without reading these first. I am a beginner and would not feel knowledgeable enough to cast a vote without instructions. So, I wonder if anyone could point these directions out to me so that I may get myself acclimated before I begin participating?

Thanks

There are no official rules on how to vote. Just vote on how much you like the photo!

hi there Kathleen :) Welcome to dpc.......beware this is a very addictive site!! LOL

Everyone has their own voting style, but to get an idea of some of the methods I put a search in for voting criteria. Came up with a load of different ideas ....here's one of the threads on voting styles here ....hope this helps

I only voted on 30%. I usually vote in one session. That way they are all random. Afterwards, I look at the ones I didn't get to vote on but don't vote on them because that takes away the random part. I did cheat and added one picture to my list because I really liked it and wanted to comment on it.

Thanks for the warm welcome and advise.

Thanks Sue for all of those links! :) I think I'd better write myself a list before I get started so at least my votes will be consistent. There appears to be a lot of "emotional topics" on voting.

386 images is quite a lot to do in one sitting. I'm waiting for a free moment to finish.

And don't forget it's a holiday weekend in the states. Lots of folks not around the computer over the weekend.

I know it is hard work, I voted 100% and commented 20% myself.

I hope more people who have submitted find the time to vote, such a big difference between 386 and 138.

Just was looking at the comments on my image. 6 of the 8 are dslr owners.. hmmm What's the ratio on your shot? wondering if there is any realtionship to the style/type of shot and those that comment, and their camera. hmmm.. just something to ponder while I drink my java.

You have made your point quite clearly with your original post, and have now cross-posted it to two other threads. If you would like to continue this discussion in your original thread, you are welcome to do so; however, please stop with the cross-posting now.

Still only at 180 votes (246 views) with one day to go...with 386 entries ?

Color purple is already at 110 votes.

Although my score is fine, could stop now.

There's a tutorial about Feedback/Commenting, maybe that was what you had heard about?

I have NOT had any time to vote in this challenge and don't want to push myself to do it at the end.

over 300 enterys and only 200 votes... people want to enter a challenge but dont want to vote on them? or just no time?

I believe it is a combination of both of those. Some people like to enter and only vote on the min no matter what. Others enter but don't have time. It could be because they are on a slow connection and it takes forever just to vote on the min.
