I just bought an Ipod touch 4g and was wondering what others are using for a constant Wi-Fi connection while mobile? Any other cool stuff you'd like to share about it would be appreciated. Thanks ya'll.

I found some free photography apps that could be useful in the field, DOFMaster and Light Meter. I've also downloaded a language app (for learning Portuguese) and the Kobo reader and iBooks for reading books and PDFs. I've loaded the camera manuals into iBooks.

i've found that if i need wifi, i can drive around whatever area i am staying in and find it quite easily if i need to... like drive around a neighborhood until i have a good signal and then park for a few minutes while i check email, etc.

also, starbucks has free wifi now...

i LOVE my ipod touch and almost don't need a laptop when i travel...

Is a data plan required to use the Sprint Overdrive? I don't have a 3G/4G phone and have no need for a data plan.

Another APP that may be useful if you want to use the iPOD touch for extra storage is the USBDisk app. You add files to through iTunes but not in the normal way of adding to the library but by dragging and dropping into iTunes in the share area.

Hopefully you're not leaching off residential wireless networks that are not secured. Instead, use JiWire Wi-Fi Finder.

Is dropbox free? USBdisk is. Also, USBdisk isn't online storage, just a place to copy files via drag n drop to your ipod. It seems that dropbox is a little more than that.
