I would have loved a red sky but days have been very dark and grey (storms, rain every day), so I understand that my photo is not appealing, no wow factor but each time it's harder for me to go out and take photos and yesterday I ended up soaked and sneezing a lot. It was quite fun ! |

I mean absolutely no disrespect to the entrants of this challenge, but we, myself included, obviously had a hard time finding good clouds this week. There are but a handful of clouds that really impress me. A lot of great photos, a lot of creativity and excellent compositions, but not a whole lot of great-looking clouds in there.
My vent about this challenge (again, no offense to the participants):
1 - Why so close on the heels of Skyscape (mid-September)? Is it not essentially the same challenge?
2 - With the short days (for most of us) as well as it being the tail end of autumn (not exactly known for good clouds other than flat mats of gray) this was just truly bad timing. (Haven't seen an exploding hoover yet, which would have been good)
3 - Basic editing? Leaves the viewer with a bunch of bland or over-sharpened clouds.
This is my first vent of this sort, and I'm fully expecting the You should have entered the night portrait challenge message, and fair enough, maybe so, but I like clouds, and would have absolutely loved this challenge had it been thought through a bit more.
Vent off.

I woke up to clouds this morning - yup, the first time in a week. Seriously. Everyday I looked and everyday I took pictures of ugly sky.

No offence, but this site does have members from the southern hemisphere as well. You wanna know frustration - it's what I feel every time I see another fantastic shot of the aurora or a snowy scene or a dramatic mountain range. Not all challenges are going to suit our personal surroundings, but that's all part of the challenge, eh? Just my 2 cents... :)

Edit @ Qiki - I did say for most of us. Of course I realize there's a southern hemisphere as well and that you can purchase cameras down there, even if the diaphragm does spin the opposite way.
