I took a shot of this lighthouse on the shores of Lake Ontario, I like it a lot. I was wondering if anyone would have any similar photos to share...

These are all excellent shots. Not a single tourist snapshot in the bunch.

I think Nancy is our resident lighthouse guru. Lots of lighthouse pics in her entries and portfolio.

Bodie Head Light, Outer Banks
I'd like to go back with the D70 and recreate it, as the S30 shot has more noise in it than I'd like

These are great photos, Nancy. I think I will take up lighhouses as my photo specialty ;-)

Watch out Andrew, you will become addicted. You will start planning vacations around lighthouses.

My name is Larry N., and I have a lighthouse problem....

Hahahahaha
Have you been talking to my family?? ;) I tried to get them to go to Michigan in the winter so I could get some COOLIN ice formation shots. Hubby's comment was..."DO YOU KNOW *&$%^# COLD IT IS UP THERE??"
Ummmm, yeah hon, that's the POINT...cold, ice, get it? :P
We didn't go, but I SWEAR I'll be there next winter with or without em!

BUT, I say in my defense...this is what I do, it's my business. If I don't grow my assortment of pics, I don't grow my biz! (that's a good argument, right? lol)

AndrewTO: Be prepared to go out early (sunrise in Portland Head ME in summer is 5am), late, fend off mosquitoes in the summer (specially during sunsets & nights...and they're COLOSSAL in ME), lose fingers to frost bite in the winter (20 deg & below during sunrises)....and love every minute of it :o)

Oh, and also buy a new wall unit for the living room now in preperation for all the lighthouse replicas you'll accumulate along the way!

Already own the 3 section one for many years now :)
No lighthouse lover's collection is complete without at least one...even another photographer.

Well Larry, perhaps I will become addicted, but then again it is not such a bad addiction, is it ? You plan vacations around them, fine, but you still have to get out of your house, do some hiking perhaps and take a few shots on the way...not bad at all, not bad...I think my next vacations will be in Maine...
