I'm not addicted. I can quit anytime I want to. I just don't want to.

I don't have a dpc problem. I take pictures, they get brown ribbons. No problem.

That’s what I always think, sometimes..)

I don't know about you guys but my ribbons are in my resume. I call myself "Award winning photographer". I had a couple from clubs too, but everything counts. Remember, getting ribbons here is NOT easy. Each photo, specially the ones are not funny but creative (ok, and maybe funny too) have lots of values if you ask me.

Challenges here gives me "excuse" to get off my butt and do something creative. I LOVE photography however I need that kind of excuse sometimes too.

Challenges and ribbons are NOT useless :-|

Challenges make us think. The timbre of the thinking is not prescribed. That's the best part.

Im 16, i have some crappy weekend job and go to college, and i love challenges, they keep me sane, and ive learnt most things i know from doing challenges, i think they're pretty dam useful. :-)

Edit- oh and it annoys me i never win ribbons...which motivates me to do my best in them, to try doing well, and maybe grabbing that ribbon :-D

When I won a ribbon recently I mentioned it to my mother. She said "What did you win?".. and I felt kind of retarded saying "a virtual ribbon BUT it's prestigious to win one amongst my fellow photographers".. her response "oh".. hahahaha

It's nice to win, but for me personally, I enjoy the camaraderie and it's also very therapeutic for me.

Suprisingly, I have been cured. Happens somewhere after 350 challenges, I think, and after getting a job which consumes entirely too much time (and doesn't permit access to DPC.)

But I do enjoy thinking about the challenge topics during the week. When I do have time to carry around a camera, it makes me look at things a bit differently, to "see" where I might find something to respond to the challenge.

Still a very good format for a photography website, I think! And I still enjoy seeing the way everyone interprets challenges. It's all good.
