Is anyone else getting a large number of comments in the portrait challenge? I usually get 4 or 5...I'm up to 16. I'm just trying to figure out if it's because I'm scoring better than usual (but still not great) or if it's because there's a lower number of submissions than on a lot of challenges. Anyone else??

I've commented on more than 55% and am working my way up to commenting on ALL of them...

Probably a combination, with a welcome boost from ToolCool. I'm up to 27 comments.

I'm at 18 comments right now. That's the highest amount of comments I've had since last year. But the comments are mostly "Great picture but...." So my score is only 4.7. I expected this though.

Be patient - they're working through the list alphabetically. ;-)

I got 14 comments and more is adding each day. That pretty much all comment about the quality of the light (flash)... i learn a lot from that... and be assure that this mistake will never append again... i will do other mistake instead, but not these one...

I appreciate the challenge with a lot lesspicture because it give better quality... so more incline to comment.

Peoples have opinions, and they have the right to be wrong !... :-)

That doesn't seem to make sense - there are SEVERAL folks who say they have commented on 100% of the submission, including me. Could sumthin be screwy - or do you have more now? One from me?

Nope. I don't have a comment from you. It's just one I got few hours ago.

Just to make sure - we are both talking about the studio portrait challenge, correct? (That what this thread was about...)

I think i really need some sleep. Sorry for the bother :(

I am sitting at 19 comments after 165 votes with an average score of 5.7 I thought the pic I entered was gonna bomb but it seems to be holding its own. Maybe even a top 100. (shouldn't be too hard with only 92 entries) lol

If you recieve too many comments this challenge, it's all my fault. Just email me all your extras and I'll dispose of them properly. ;-)

Don't get me wrong TooCool...I LOVE finally getting some input (other than 'nice shot...I gave it a 4'.

I have a comment to make about the comment. I got a very rude comment (and being the only one comment I have)... from username Bored.. saying "WOW fu**ing extraordinary (sarcastic)"
In my opinion it was the first time seeing ***** so I of course thought it was Extraordinary. I really feel that if people are going to make such mean comments they shouldn't be making comments at all. That really irked me that someone would be so immature and say something so mean. I thought comments were more so supposed to be about critiquing than saying something totally rude.

Edit--Sorry didn't realize I had mentioned my picture. Was just very irked at the moment. Thank you for editing. I will remember next time.

Crystal...you might want to edit your post so that your photo isn't described (it's not generally acceptable to discuss your photo during voting).

We are all trying to gracefully ignore the rude remarks from some voters...but it happens.

Crystal:

You can report such profane comments to the administrators by choosing "Help > Contact", where they will be dealt with. For reference, the challenge rules specifically state:

Blatantly slanderous, rude, or profane comments may be removed, and the owners of such comments may be suspended or lose their accounts.

Portrait challenge.

Got to be delighted with this, as my last attempt at portraiture earned me my lowest score ever..(probably because of a bit of experimentation with high key) which, ironically, seems to be getting more popular ?
Really pleased to get so many comments and a big thank you to "toocool" for kicking this off.
I have commented on a fair number of the submissions in this challenge but stopped short at doing the whole amount as I don`t feel proficient enough at portraiture to be handing out advice to others.

Is it possible that all those comments are comming at the expense of the extraordinary challenge? 70 votes and one comment. (Although it was a good comment)

I don't know how to take one either :-0 but I know what I like or what don't feel right so I tell folks that! You shouldn't stop, keep going. It's good for the site and commenting can only make your own work better!
