| I didn't get an email from Karma in Scotland, but I got a Nigerian scam letter from "Goodluck Omar" this morning. I will refer him to you, Karma, as it seems you could use the $10million more than me. :P |

How are u doing? Honestly, I'm doing pretty awful! I’m with family on vacation in Scotland and a lot of crap has been spewing. We got mugged last night in an alley on our way back from a football match. One of the thugs had a knife poking my neck for almost two minutes and they stole everything we had on us including my cards. Quite honestly, it was beyond a dreadful experience for us but looking on the bright side we weren't seriously hurt or injured,we're still alive so that's the most important thing. I've reported to the cops here and canceled all our cards,it appeared I had acted quickly enough or they almost would have succeeded in cleaning out my bank account. We are really having some difficulties clearing our hotel bills and we also need to pick up a voucher ticket at the counter for us to catch a flight back home today so I'm wondering if you could please loan me some $$ till we get things straighten out. I promise to refund as soon as we arrive home,write me back and let me know how you can get it to me asap.

Anyway, regarding the hacking of MY e-mail, I've done all my security things and as far as i can tell my system is fine now, so that makes me nervous. I did change my password...

Well if you will go walking down an alley after a football match in Scotland what do you expect. It was bound to be one of THEIR supporters, mine would never do that ;)

This is Karma from DPC. I got into a slight fisticuff last night, but I karate kicked everyone in their scrotum's. Even though I am American and I tend to walk down dark alleys in Scotland, they simply did not understand that I come from bear/snow/snake/humid, home school my children country and that I have chickens in my backyard and my youngest child is somehow related to Charlie.
I am the only sensible person on the SC. If you send me money now, I will validate all your entries.

My husband's boss saw a flag when I said I had been to a "football match." Silly Europeans, everybody knows football is played in games.
My former pastor became suspicious when they asked for euros, knowing that I probably wouldn't do that, even in Scotland.
As far as how? I have no idea. My email and facebook were "compromised" at the same time it looks like, though the passwords were not similar at all.
The biggest annoyance is that I can't "fix" my facebook account because my primary email was attached to it (d'uh), and I can't seem to fix my email because my "secondary" has apparently been changed and the one I am trying to use for correspondence for both sites won't work because it wasn't initially listed.

Okay. Got it fixed. >:( Finally. Only took 4 or 5 attempts with my email people to convince them that it really was me.
Checked my settings and the blasted account was forwarding everything to another address. Was also able to view recent activity and sure enough, around the time I lost access this morning, it was hit from an IP in, are you ready for this, Nigeria.
Everything is cleaned. Passwords are reset. I think I'm up and running again.
Oh, and I would say "fisticuff." I'd be more like, "I opened a big ole can of whup a$$ on 'em" |
