I'm just starting to review my files to see ehat could sell and I'm making a small studio at home to shoot for this.

I was wondering... How many photos do you upload per week or per month? Do you upload all the same photos to all the sites?

Just a few begginer questions.

Best regards,

I have been horribly inconsistent as of late, partly due to technical problems, but have about 60 images up on Alamy (I have a hot link on my profile page). But I would advise against submitting the same images to different sites. Frankly I think you would be shooting yourself in the foot if you did that.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I've heard that some sites are moe +prone to certain type of images than others, but also heard that some people upload the same photos mor eor less in all of the sites, microstock speaking.

I have been pretty lazy about uploading for a while now, which certainly doesn't help when it comes to sales. I do submit most of my photos to multiple sites (microstock only) because different images seem to do well on different sites and there is no way (that I know of) to predict which image will do well on which site. Some of my best-sellers on one site have been rejected elsewhere, so don't take rejections as a sign that images are no good if you truly believe they could sell.

So I means you upload all images to all sites? It could work well, as you said you can't know in advance witch image sell well in each site.

You could certainly try to upload them all to all sites. Except that some allow you to upload more than others. iStock allow you so few uploads a week at the lower cannister levels that it is difficult to build up a large portfolio there. Also, over time you may be able to pick up a pattern of which images may be accepted at one site and rejected elsewhere. But you can only work out such things by trial and error.

Yeah, I upload all my images to all the sites. If you first produce an image there is no reason why you wouldn't upload it to a site. That is the part of the process that takes the least amount of time.

If you are just starting out I wouldn't bother with any of the low earner sites. Their sales are so sparse you would be waiting a long time for a sale with only 100 images.

I also upload all my images to all sites. Some images are rejected on one site and then sell good at another agency. I also think that buyers don't have accounts with all the agencies, maybe some work only with one or two. If you don't upload to them, then that buyer will won't see your images.

Start with the with with top agencies like Shutterstock, iStockPhoto, BigStock, Dreamstime, Fotolia, and 123RF. After a some time you will see how much time you have left to add more to the list. Get your work-flow established first and then it will add only little time to add some more agencies.

Also don't worry if it takes more then one try to be accepted at Shutterstock, jut keep trying.
