Just curious to see if there would be enough folks from Canterbury to have a get together some time? Maybe a BBQ at a suitably photogenic spot..

Although we'd have to wait till summer for the BBQ bit, not much fun at this time of year :-).

Cheers, Chris.

sorry Chris ....bit far away for me unless I can gather lots more flyby points. My day off today so thought I might be able to get out and about with the camera .....heavy rain all day!!

We could split the fly-by's and meet in Taupo :-).

I carried the camera with me all weekend looking for an extraordinary shot, and coped out in the end and did a setup for a still-life in the lounge last night, as I'm not going to have time to get out this week.

Rain is good for photography, lousy for cameras... Have fun

Good stuff..

I live in a rural setting, and work in a small town (Leeston, POP 1300) so finding something extraordinary that wasn't 'made up' was a bit of a stretch.

We'll have to wait and see what folks think of my attempt at humor, which is what I resorted to in the end...

Cheers, Me.

I used to live in Dunedin and often drove up to Banks Peninsula going through Leeston :)

Doesn't all of NZ look like LotR then? ;-)

Big chunks of it do, but there are little bits that don't look so flash... There is this little spot down by Bluff, just before you turn onto the Catlins road that is not so picturesque, but I can't quite think of any other spots. :-). Oh, there is the North Island of course, which is pretty boring, not enough mountains by far, but we try not to mention them.. (applogies to suemack)

I should put some landscape stuff from my travels online somewhere, there are some lovrly bits of scenery around the South Island, and a few in the north..

In the mean time, have a look at the landscape shots on here. Don't know him personally, but he's got a good eye for scenery, and uses a 10D, so it's DPC related even.

Cheers, Chris H.
