I don't know... there's a good possibility that they'll be estranged for years...

Welcome!! Where else can you go to have someone make you take a picture of potatoes?

Ciao Daniele! It's too hot to be outside at the moment here in Rome so this'll be a great excuse for you to stay at home. Also this way you can supplement my terrible teaching with some English reading practice! There are a few Italians on here too so you can send them questions if I'm not around.

I have a question for Italians: does "forte al dente" mean anything? I said it today in reference to some pasta I made, which was a little more al dente than I usually make it, and I got looked at like I had three heads.

Unless my Italian fails me it should be "molto al dente" - forte is more like "strong" than "very".

I don't think it was your misuse of Italian.
