Apparently the exif info read on upload doesn't include the lens? Or is it just something that is not working for me? It seems to pick up on the date, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, but not the lens used. This is a normal, non-challenge upload. Is this normal?

Yes it uses your default lens and camera selected by you in your profile. Everything else is pulled from the exif. Normal.

Would be good if the EXIF for lens could be matched against a qualifying lens in the user profile, then added automatically. (For that matter, why not just add it automatically, and add that lens to the user's profile? Or not, just add the lens used in the EXIF in the notes, irrespective of whether it's in the profile or not.)

Ah, then it's not just me. Apparently I never noticed before because I shot nearly everything with the default lens. :-) Or I'd change the default to match that day's shooting. That'll still work.

I think this was discussed before, and that there is a major problem with inconsistencies in the way the different manufacturers report the lens/focal length info for their lenses ... it's more than a matter of just parsing a field.

For example, here's the EXIF for as picture I took a little earlier today. What does the parsed focal length value really tell you about the shot and how it was taken?* The reported ISO value is also in a "coded" form -- I had to take a sample frame in each ISO mode to figure out what the numbers meant.
