Hey everyone, i havent been on the site for quite a while but recently came across a type of photography that has me very excited. Its called trashing the dress, you know, where the bride goes and does crazy sh*t in her wedding dress and gets great photos in water and trees, whatever. I did my first shoot recently, but my model didnt show so i had to do the modeling and my aspiring photographer boyfriend did the shooting(not bad either, compliments and criticism would make him happy:)

so i think people who have done this type of shoot should post their photos here, or post photos(or photographers) who have inspiried them during this type of shoot.

oh, and try not to criticize my modeling too much, its really not my thing and i failed pretty decently at it, haha

I've been wanting to do a Trash The Dress shoot so badly!!!!! I have a willing model, just haven't been to the Good Will to get her dress yet. ;-)
Of your shots the ones in the water are my favs.

i actualy found the dress in the shoot by going to the good will and complaining about the price! some lady walked by and asked if i wanted one for free and thats all she wrote:) the water photos were fun for sure, except the dress smelled baaaad after we were done(sea water and mini sea creatures tend to smell like crap, i now know). the water wasnt even that cold, i didnt get all shivery ti the shoot was done a couple hrs later.

do your shoot, its sooooo much fun! its even worth dropping $50 or so on a dress, even though i prefered a free one:)

the best wedding photography I've ever seen (IMO of course), including Trash the dress stuff, is by our very own grigrigirl (sadly not active anymore here)

I cant remember who did it, but someone on here did a TTD where the woman was wearing the dress and it was on fire.

I guess what they did is take picture of the woman wearing the dress and then took another picture of the dress on a mannequin in the same position, and then lit the dress on fire.

After that, just erase the mannequin away to just leave woman wearing the dress thats on fire.

That used to be the front pic on the www.altf.com site that I posted above...

ETA: Its still under the "signature images" section.

Katherine, those are wonderful shots! You do such a good job of capturing both the youth and energy of the model (she doesn't come across as noobish at all, btw, my compliments to her). It's also clear you've been shooting like crazy, despite what must have been a pretty tough school year. Good work kiddo! :-)
