Not that I'm planning to leave DPChallenge, however, this site is very cool. It's free sign-up and unlimited posting of any kind of art, digital, drawing or photography.

Surprisingly, the quality of the art is... FANTASTIC! They have over 50,000 users that submit artwork all the time, the community isn't as big as it could be, but I encourage DPChallenge users to create a profile and start posting their pics A.S.A.P. It's a great site that will one day be as keen to feedback as DPChallenge or DeviantArt. They are in desperate need of more good photographers, so here's the link:

//shadowness.com/

Go on the site, check it out and create a profile if you'd like to join. If you decide to join Shadowness, follow me, my username is "MrNiceGuy" and give me some feedback on the photos I have posted. If not, I guess DPChallenge is the place for you. Just thought I'd let you know of this treasure of a site.

As a site, it's a little heavy on the sexism and sword 'n sorcery to appeal to me. Too many adolescent-male-fantasy-big-busted-women for me to be comfortable there. Heck of a lot of anime, too. I guess it's targeted at a younger demographic than this old fart. A lot of it's very skillfully done, though, I acknowledge that.

Beautiful art. But I truly love the layout, and the intelligent use of JS/CSS to create a very usable and attractive interface. It makes it look downright creaky around here. This site is in dire need of an usability enhancement and facelift.

Agreed. I am tired of replacing fuses in my portfolio every week.

Although a subject best discussed at length in a separate thread, I'd be interested to know what it is that you'd like to see updated in the DPC interface. For my part, I am by and large quite happy with the no-frills navigation and layout.

As am I. I find DPC particularly comfortable to communicate in, which is more than i can say for nearly all its competitors.

I like it as is. Simple non-intrusive and no neon signs blinking away incessantly. ;)

One thing I would change is the background colour of our image pages....

Portfolio management is, to say it kindly, less than intuitive. I don't like it the way it is. This is a nineties-era site coming up on the age of the canvas and CSS3. It aches, aches for change.

then there's the fact that you have to print out photos instead of layering in photoshop...

While I actually like that DPC has remained consistent and simple for so long, I think of simple, useful things that could be done to improve it all the time, but many have already been suggested and others I can't remember unless I am write them down.

Yeah, we need electronic post-it notes at dpc!

I have been a member of dpc for years (of course I'm never around but I've been signed up forever) and I think that it's fine as is BUT I think that it would perhaps attract more members with an updated interface, the longer it stays as is the less newbies and the less "modern" photographers will sign up. Not saying that is BAD, I'm sure there is a pov that wants it to not attract a bunch of people, or to attact the same kind of people it already does. But I'm just saying that in terms of marketing as a person who has come and gone and come and gone, it doesn't look as relevant as it used to.
