LOL, first thing that struck me too! Oddly enough, the second thing that I thought about was an armadillo!

You could do a portrait and title it "Andrew" or "Amanda" or "Andrea" or "Alexander". Even if that isn't really the person's name, who's going to know?

How about I enter my shoehorn and name it Adam?

While you could do that, personally I would vote it low. I am looking for photographs of things like apple (yes I know it will be over used), airplane, aardvark, armadillo etc... I would also score high concept things like abyss, absent. But a photograph of a person, dog, cat with a name for Andrew, Amanda, etc will get a low vote from me.

Right or wrong that is how I am looking at the challenge.

I wonder if any are missing?

Yes there are lots missing from your list. If you use the link I provided in my opening post and follow the instructions you will get a list that contains at least 25 times more words then your list. I tried to post that list here but I was not able to as it is too big apparently for the allowable amount of words or letters in a post.

Surely it deserves a more interesting name. How about Aloysius? Or it could be a female shoehorn for all I know. Lots of unusual A names for girls.

Uh, how does one determine the gender of a shoehorn, anyway? You are the only person I can think of who might know.

ETA: my poor little post looks so tiny and insignificant after the last post ...

Then the only connection to the challenge is the title which in DPC terms could be considered a shoehorn and would likely get voted down by plenty of voters.

I'm going to deduct at least a point for anyone who enters an apple, an arachnid, or any type of flower with a latin name starting with A. Be forewarned. And when you don't like your score, just remember that A is for Assholes. :-)
