Is it possible to make the username link to their profile?

Just wondering, since you can actually type in vawendy.dpchallenge.com and get to my profile, you don't need to know their ids, just the name.

Just a thought.

The USER_ID has to remain on the ranking page because it acts as a primary key so when a user changes their name it will auto update. As far as putting a hyperlink, I'm 90% sure it can be done in VBA. I would have to research some VBA code and see if its possible.

Thanks Scott. Love your work. You ARE a legend.

2010 DPC USER RANKING
updated June 3rd, 2010

I have updated the way you can view the results. I have included an index page with a calender that shows each week; click on the week # to view that weeks results. This will help users understand what dates the week corresponds with. Also you will be able to see what challenges and what stage they are in up to two-weeks in advance.

Please take time to view the new layout and let me know if it helps.

Thanks,
Scott

It took me a while to get what was going on ... maybe label it as an index or table of contents, since it contains no actual ranking data.

"Scheduled" is spelled "squeduled" on the linked paged for weeks 22 and 23.

Thanks for pointing out the spelling error. I will correct that.

I don't understand what you mean in your first sentence. Are you talking about the index page or each of the weeks page?

Your link is labelled 2010 DPC USER RANKING as if it goes to the regular weekly ranking page, rather than to the table of contents. And it may be more confusing for me because I'm using an old browser, and things may not be lining up for me the way you intend. I don't think that is anything to worry about or change unless someone else has a problem.

Ok, so your browser is not showing a formated calender with the week numbers on the left side?

If so, do you think a landing page with links to each week corresponding dates would be better such as below:

May 23rd through May 29th, 2010 : Week 21

Thanks,
Scott

I don't think you need to change anything, except maybe to change the title of your link to something like Week-by-Week Calendar of 2010 DPC User Rankings -- otherwise it's fine. The basic formatting shows up for me, but if I was going to publish it in a book I would fine-tune some of the alignments. It is fine for a web-based documennt.

Could you please go to the main calendar page HERE for the 2010 DPC USER RANKING SYSTEM and let me know if it's easy for you to understand. So far GeneralE has given me some feedback and I would like to here from more of you. I hope this helps everyone understand what dates corresponds with the week numbers.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Great work as always.

Is there any way to automatically send you to your ranking when you call up the page.It is difficult to find your name when browsing thru. Is there a script involved with that?

Also is there a breakdown on how the scoring works?

I haven't found a way as of yet but I'm still try to find a way to do that. It would mean you would have to enter your user name since the rankings are not a session event or use cookies to know who you are. I have been doing what VitaminB said ctrl+f and enter the user name.

Week 22 has been updated!

So... what was week 22 is now week 21?

thanks again Scott... can you retweak the formula to ensure that I go up the ranking when I suck... looks like that's the only way I'm going to make it back into the top 100 :P

Yea I had to put a calendar in so I could match up the weeks. I know it's been a pain for people to see the weeks change. I sorry for the inconsistency. Now that I have the calendar the weeks should be consistent from now on...I hope :)

If I could retweak the formula I would find a way to bring me up from the bottom; I think I'm in the 1700's :P

Thanks,
Scott
