OK, they aren't fancy or pretty bugs, but they were readily available...and don't have stingers. You know, even Jacko had to start SOMEWHERE... :o)

The excond of the two is much stronger..it is very inreresting, the DOF is great and everything is beautiful. Also, the bug placement is perfect.
Bravo for your first shots!

Jeez, laurie, looks like everything to turn your hand to these days pays off handsomely :) and yes, no2 is excellent.
I snapped this in the garden today, think its a hoverfly.

I agree, the second is very cool!! Not sure why but I love the close up of a fly. This one was taken the other night while I was partaking in some adult beverages and he landed on the corner of my monitor. So, I snapped the shot.

Thanks, y'all...I was having fun sitting on the front porch, all the neighbors out staring at the crazy woman taking pictures of her shrubs...you know, the usual around here! I got the lens adapter today (this time they sent the right thing...see the ethical dilemma thread for THAT strange tale) and was experimenting with the macro set (+1, +2, +4) that I got off of eBay. Those two were taken with all three stacked together. I've not quite got the hang of it yet, but I think I like taking pictures of bugs. And that's weird, because I hate bugs! :o)
