Thanks for calling me and asking if I wanted to go to dinner. I really wish I could have but knew getting together this weekend was going to be next to impossible. End of the semester is a bad time to try and do anything other than finish papers and study for finals.

Right back from my great weekend in Houston ~!

It was an eye opening experience! Several decisions where made that weekend. I am never visiting Texas or New Orleans unless it is December and cold. Coming from Tucson where the only humidity I get is when i step into a shower, I was felled by the worst humidity that Houston has seen in a while.

Had a blast on Friday night with all the DPC'ers, we drank and talked the night away, whilst watching 80 years olds doing the jive. Bitched and moaned at our terribly bad waitress, it was a fun night.

Unfortunately, the next day , the humidity got to me. I did get rather sick on Saturday from it, so bowed out of going out with everyone and shooting during the day, but did manage to go out to dinner, which was a great Mexican place with live music.

Sunday I woke up with dread in my heart that it would be 100% humidity again, went out onto our balcony and ended up doing a jive, sang a song and screeched with joy. No humidity and 20 degrees cooler.

So off to the zoo we went, fabulous, mostly because we had the best little 4 year old as a tour guide and model. I shot a card full of her.

Went out to dinner with David, Dave, Kat on Sunday night to a steak place, great company, they did have to restrain me from writing 'Wash Me' on a cop car though, cos none of us had enough bail money to get me out.

So all in all a wonderful weekend.

And as a side note, I would like to thank Kat for putting up with snoring, a lot.

You didn't tell me that I was cavorting with the enemy all weekend! I just realized my DPL2 team is up against yours this week.

Had a great time hanging out with you guys, sorry about that humidity thing. ;-)

Damn, I knew I should have crawled out with you on Saturday and kicked you in the shin!!!

I was so pleased to meet you and your family, it was a pleasure indeed. And I am glad "I am not what you expected"!!!! (you never did tell me if that was good or not!!!!! lol)

edited to add: Life got back to normal really rather quickly when I got home, Charlie was riding his bike and skidded out and landed on his face, so minor concussion, lacerations all over his face, knees and hands, swollen lips loose tooth. AND he wiped out in his new 'Don't Mess With Texas Shirt" !!! The road DID not listen to his shirt!!! lol
