They wouldn't, actually. They are Photoshop montages. They might be legal under our Expert rules, if they were comprised of images shot within the challenge dates :-)

Annie is awesome. Who cares if her stuff would be illegal on DPC? She's one of the best living photographers with a body of work that eclipses practically everyones.

Have you seen her work for Rolling Stone? It rules!

Yeh! Sure, It's time to have our Expert Challenges in a regular basics and let some great artists out there to join us. We all have a lot to win if we have more ways to express creativity.

Well, *I* certainly don't care :-) I'm acutely aware that DPC is a mutant subspecies of the genus "photographia". Someone just brought it up, and nobody had happened to mention in this thread that the images are montages, so I did :-)

I completely agree. I think that DPC needs to host on its front page the best pics it can, and that invariably doesn't include basic rules challenges (no offence). Imagine if the front page was full of awesome stuff that happens when there's an expert challenge- people would stumble to the site, see it, be impressed and want to stick around as the material would be at a level they could aspire to. When they see generic shots in a rather silly challenge (Pencil?) I don't think it gives the best impression of what this site is capable of.

But I digress. Leibovitz rules. She can take my picture any time.
