I was surfing the web for a low price on this camera after I was playing around with it last night at Wal-Mart and the $784.99 price tag was a litte too steep for me, so I checked around the Costco website was selling the camera for $599.99. Has anyone seen a lower price and if so from where? Also does anyone knows if the Aafes Px matches website pricing because I know they will if it's in a sales ad.

Thanks

By going through this sites link to Pricegrabber, I saw it for $513... I noticed that it was $522 from DigitalEtailer (also found through Pricegrabber) and I found them to be honest enough when I bought my camera last month.

Hope this helps :)

Does anyone know about amphotoworld.com? I saw the FujiFilm Finepix S602 going for $399 and the Sony DSC S85 going for $379 in a magazine ad, oh and would that ad be concidered a "local" ad as it is in a nationwide magazine and being available in my area?

I got mine at www.buydig.com
They were awsome, and they have plenty of ratings.

John (TurboTech)

have to be careful with really cheap ones. They may not include everything you need. Buy dig has all the accessories. I would suggest the 9 dollar Barrel Extender so you can put a protection filter on the Cam to proect the lens
The cam itself is 514 the last time I checked.

ALright thanks, one question though...how is the macro feature with the camera? The reason why I'm looking to upgrade is because I want to take nice close ups of some insects and some tree frogs that recently invaded our city.

Oh and does anyone know how the Sony S85 compares to the FujiFilm FinePix S602Z macro wise?

For a technical review of how well the camera handles macro shots, you might want to check out //www.imaging-resource.com/DIGCAM01.HTM.

Also have a look at my photos by clicking my signature link below. The macros there were taken with the FujiFilm FinePix F601 Zoom (which I broke in October and replaced with the S602). I've been very happy with the macro capability on both cameras. I'd attach one of a dragonfly that I took this summer with the F601 Zoom, but I haven't got it posted online anywhere. (Can I attach a file from my hard drive to a forum post?)
