Hello. If anyone be so kindly help me out here. I Have to pick 2 of these 19 shots for a State Fair Art Show Contest. I have managed to get down to 18 out of 200. My post-mail dead line is June 11th, next Friday. Only needing to submit at this time are Proofs.

I'm having a hard time choosing. I would like to get a honest opinions from others. Basically, just a idea on which photo or art work is more appealing to folks. I don't need deep and technical information. Just wondering which shot works. It won't take much of your time as I just need to know at first glance and which one(s) strike you first. If needed, any adjusting will be made later before going to print.

The art contest and show is very family oriented and they, the Judges, just love simple images' saw what they had last year. So, I do know what they are looking for. Perhaps I will need to change the names of the shots...any other ideas...I'm bad with naming photos. Overall, this is mainly just a opinion poll for the first critical cut. Thank you in advance.

I like 1 and 4 the most.

3, 6, and 15 are also good.

If I recall rightly the people shots are candid? If you dont have a model release I dont think you can enter them.

Good luck!

I like 4 the best (it's on my favorites list) but also 1 and 15.

Good luck, let us know which you choose.

I like 1 and 7 on page 1 of your galleries (although I think it's spelled Perche Creek). I like 1 and 3 on the second page of your galleries. Good luck with the contest!! Let us know how you fare.

Thank you and good call about a having a model release....my people shots are candid at events around where I live. It's college town, so many oppotunities there. However, perhaps I need to carry some model release form around with me at such events.....

For what it's worth, my favorites are #3 and #4 on page 1, and #1 on page 2. These all work very well graphically, and if the judges are into simple compositions, I think you may have a winner here.

This is very nice work. Do you know the criterion for judging? Does it have to be a Missouri subject or reflect Missouri-ness in some way? If so, then I like #1 best. Otherwise, I really like #14 and #15. All are good, and I really enjoy the dining ones, too.

Page 1, images 3 and 6. (they are all nice though ;-)

I feel these are a couple of your strongest compositions. The lines are simple and clean without any clutter, the tones are different, but equally compelling... AND they contain similar subject matter. I think either could stand alone, but together they enhance one another.

Plus, by using them both you would have some continuity, which some artsy folks (and judges?) really dig.

Regards,

Michael

Well, I'm thinking....I lived in Sedalia have always gone by to see the Art Show at the MO State Fair when I was younger. It appears that all art work is from a MO leagal resident. Of course, but the subject matter dosn't nessassary have to be photo's of MO or of those money shots of MO, the GAte way arch etc. I think that the only thing..:) There are many nice photos of things around MO....I think that the judges will like more that the photo has a name to the photo of where it was shot. Those seem to have done better....then I hope that they vote on the quality and comp..then from where it was taken. I have a shot where it looks like im in the desert, but really just in one large wheat field of dried dirt with a large gust of wind blowing around the dirt ito the air makeing it look a bit foggy too, interesting shot...a deep DOF reject.
