hello,
i've been "lurking" here for a couple weeks now. got my camera 3 weeks ago. i signed up for membership a few days ago. this is an incredible place for hobbyists or professionals alike. my hats off to the creators as well as the contributors to this site. very talented people here. should see more of me in upcoming challenges, but i want to give you a fair warning now-- it won't be pretty :p but i plan to learn a lot here so thanks in advanced!

Welcome aboard!!! Only advice I can give is shoot often and then shoot some more :) Well, that and stay warm :)

Welcome! Be sure and take advantage of everything the site offers like the tutorials and How'd They Do That pages. It is amazing how much you can learn in a short time if you look around and keep your ears open here. Have Fun!

Welcome aboard Matt! This place is fun and addicting. Lots of friendly people and some with a sense of humor. I'm looking forward to your participation and seeing your photos. Detroit ought to be a great place to take photographs because you have the city and you also have seasons there. (We don't have 'real' seasons in Texas). We're all learning here, so dive right in, the water's great.

Its great being warm in California. But mbetea and hbunch Ill be joining you guys in Michigan next month.

Hello from Columbus, OH...Yes, that Columbus, OH. The home of the team that (luckily) just barely won over U of M this year. :-)
Enjoy yourself here and I'm sure your photography skills will be quickly enhanced by the great wealth of knowledge of the users.
