I'll get one - probably as early as possible; it does the things I want do a lot better than the things I currently use to do those things!

With or w/o 3G? And did you get a delivery date?

I will be getting one. I live on my 1st gen itouch, mainly used for downloaded tv programs and BBC iplayer. This will be a nice upgrade. I`m guessing rip-off UK price to be £399 for the 16gb version.

1 with 3G, one without. The wifi only will be here April 3. "Late April" on the 3G model.

32 GB wifi only, 64GB on the 3G

waste of money IMO.

Only a waste of money if you don't have a good use for it.

I was pretty set on getting one then I saw the video for the MS Courier, I think I might wait a bit and see how that pans out now.

From an article by Galen Gruman, on Apple's refusal to answer questions to industry writers and anyone else asking what the iPad is actually for:

"I now have major concerns that [the iPad] will fulfill the potential beyond being an iTunes delivery screen that I and other industry observers saw. I can't blame Apple for not delivering on promises it hasn't actually made, but I can be fed up with its lack of candor on its products' basic capabilities."

The fact that the line they're pushing is that the thing is "magical" isn't just silly and sophomoric; it actually speaks volumes about what the company doesn't want you to think about it. Does it multi-task? Never mind, it's magic! Does it work with Exchange, making it usable for work? Never mind, it's magic! Will it finally be Flash-ready? Never mind, it's magic!

I'll wait for a company that releases a screen this size exclusively for image viewing. I would love to show my images to customers with this but not at 600CDN dollars. I'm pretty sure Sony or another company is going to release a pad/tablet with multi tasking and other options not included in the ipad. I'm also sure it won't cost as much.

Also, I don't know why Apple isn't loading these things up with more memory than 16gb or 32gb. They're playing the upgrade card I think. With memory prices so low why not include a minimum of 64gb or even 128gb. 16gb sounds like a very small amount to me for a device such as this.

Because they use solid state memory, which, if it has to be fast, is very expensive.

Other companies apparently are planning a SD slot for easy extra slow memory. But don't expect that on the Ipad. You could hang an ethernet ready drive on your router though.

If the ipad had a HDMI input I would really consider purchasing one. Hopefully Apple will think about that on the next generation model.
