Still doing school business, but had some time to fire off a few more comments and adjust the final scores - the longer I looked and truly studied a good chunk of the photos the more I found that they had many strengths from just that first glance that bumped them up in score.

Im done and off to bed. Looking forward to see the top 10 tomorrow. Mine is nowhere there and the quality of work is outstanding. It was a joy going through them all and tough to comment on all...but im done. Only once a year

This is what I have learned the most from doing all these comments...for me it has been the best classroom instruction to look at and study each of the pictures...why I like it...why don't I like it...could something simple be done to improve it with out re-shooting/or tearing it apart (not sure if that makes since or not) because that person took that picture for a reason thinking it was really great...and mind you this is all just an opinion. But my scores have gone up significantly from really studying the pictures and becoming familiar with them...such a learning curve... |

I concur. The comments I most loved giving were the ones of constructive criticism. You know, you just needed to do this and tweak that a little. I admit, not all of my critical comments were that way but I liked giving the ones that were and they are the ones I do like to receive as well, except for when they make me feel stupid for not doing something obvious. I think I will feel successful when those comments become matters of personal preference and I have 3 or 4 different suggestions on each rather than 10 of the same one.
ETA: Oh, and I really love the ones I get on how to improve the image in voting rather than telling me I should have entered a different one.

tThe Best Of 2009 has over 400 entries and I see there are a few people having a go at it....that is awesome! So to celebrate your special achievements of commenting on all the entries...I have made a special ribbon. So to all those out there who haven't completed that challenge...you still have just over an hour to try and get your ribbon.
