Just in case anyone was planning on heading out to Utah/Arizona's red-rock country this year, I just wanted to let you know that I wansn't planning on organizing a GTG this year.

We've had 4 good years, 2 in the Moab area and 2 in the Page, Arizona area, but with the economy and smaller attendance it looks like waiting another year would be best.

If anyone was making definite plans and enough want me to reconsider, let me know. Otherwise, we'll look at the options next year.

FWW: What I'd really love to do is get/rent 4WD and explore the back country in the off-road mode and camp. That's a whole different GTG.

That is good with me Becky, waiting a year would be fine. And I like the 4WD outing concept. If this is going to be a go for next year as much advance notice as possible would be nice.

I appreciate all your efforts.

Thank you so much for the ones you have hosted, I've always had a great time.

I'm not sure if it would even make a good GTG, but I've thought of taking the 4WD off road and staying our in the wilderness instead of coming in each night. I'd love to see some of the out of the way places.

I'm guessing the camping would be in the vehicle or on the ground - pretty rough - for a few days at a time and then come in to town and clean up.

If you are looking at the San Rafael Swell area ya might want to hurry. It might be a Federal wilderness or a Monument soon. There are dozens of old mines, abandoned airstrip and ruins throughout the Swell. There are also dozens of beautiful arches that rival Delicate Arch that very few have seen. I'm planning a Powered Parachute aircraft trip through the Swell soon. The view from above is incredible.
