Basic editing... HDR a no no :)

Wasn't paying attention to that...... phew !! Thanks :-)

You CAN use tonemapping in basic though. As long as it doesn't insult the senses.

I see the description in the latest challenge

"Go out and find or create some graffiti... and then capture it, of course."

is suggesting that we could, as an option, create graffiti.

Isn't this generally considered to be vandalism and an offence in law in many countries?
Surely DPC aren't suggesting we go out and commit and offence in order to create a photograph :)

Then surely they are reconsidering a challenge suggestion I submitted a long time ago:

Razing Villages (Advanced Editing)
Photograph the burning, pillaging and plundering of your local town or village.
Special Rules: If there is no razing going on, you may create the mayhem yourself.

Lucky you moved back to Australia, Karin. :P

Hmmm...this would make the Main Street Challenge more interesting too!

Are we to judge the quality and aesthetics of the graffiti or the ability to photograph a wall?

I'd say the strongest entries are going to be ones where the graffiti is just significant component of a larger scene.

That's right and that is how it should be.. and m sure there are people who will do this with great eminence

Mmm....no graffity on walls in miles around here, would it count if I sprayed some color on my sheep?
But then I might get a visit from one of the animal cruelty protection.LOL, I think I'll sit this one out.

Use water-based food coloring ... maybe paint them as a "billboard" advertising PETA's phone number ... ;-)
