What is the best cost benefit for a lens in the range of 70-300mm or 75-300mm or something near it, with macro capabilities? I'm looking for a cheap lens, can be used too, for $200 or less...

I found cheap lenses from Canon, Sigma and Tamron, but can't decide to any of them...

Can you help me please?

I got hold of a secondhand Canon 70-300mm IS in the summer and am amazed by the macro on it.
Heres one i got

I would recommend saving til you can get one with the IS, at 300mm it makes a massive difference.
The pics it takes are sharp as hell and it is reasonably priced secondhand.

Just my 2 pence, good luck.

Before buying any equipment, I check out Popular Photography. Just google it and ye shall find. Check out the lens review section. Hopefully, you will get some great info on the lenses in question.
Then at least you can compare reviews, making the most out of your purchase. Good Luck!

For the price that I can afford right now, I found these are cool ones:
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro for Canon brand new for $199 on Ebay
Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 for Canon (how much?)
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III used for $123 on Ebay
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM (how much?)

Not sure what is the best cost/benefit among those, and I really need to stay on low cost units...

If anybody could tell anything, according to your personal experience...

The Canon 70-300IS is an awesome lens, Ive had mine for about 3ish years and still love it. Its nice n sharp and is considered by some as Canon's hidden L glass.

I have the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II and would not reccomend it. I wish I would have saved for an IS lens. Mine is ok in bright light but anything else you better hope you have a tripod and shutter release cable.
