I just moved to Nanaimo from Saskatoon, I am rather new to photography and have a hard time teaching myself new stuff.

I also don't know to many people in Nanaimo and am finding it hard to get motivated to get out and shoot as much as I should be, maybe there is someone around that would like to share some ideas or grab a cup of coffee?

Congrats on the move. I live in Seattle, a little too far away logistically, but you live now in a gorgeous area. One of my favorite areas is Campbell River an easy trip north for you.

Welcome to Nanaimo Leigh! I don't live there myself but my in-laws do and it's a place I visit often.

Lots of nice places for photography in and around. I've been camping in Strathcona and I can ensure you that you will get a lot of good pictures from there. I would also suggest a drive out to the Pacific rim and up to Tofino.

My in-laws runs a B&B called Copperkettle B&B in Nanaimo. They love coffee visits so just stop by if you're bored and tell them you know me. They know the area very welll and would be happy to give you a few pointers.
