AOL has a decent place called Hometown, if you have AOL, you can find it at AOL Keyword HOMETOWN. They set you up with a blank page and tell you to have fun with it. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

www.webshots.com - allows you to upload photos, send them as e-cards, send invitations to your friends to see an album or more. I'm not awaare of any ability to create your own web page, however, unless that's included in the paid member area.

do a search on free web hosting and you'll find several.

you can always get your own domain with 500meg of web space for $99 a year like I have....

Then you can do what you want, no limits (well 500 meg of space is all ya get).

Remember with "free"... you get what you pay for

You can get free websites like Geocities or Tripod, they have build-in templates to create your website. If you can program your own website or have a software to create it, I suggest having your own domain and host free hosting at freehostingweb or cheap hosting with lots of functionality at edatarack. You may also go to Cnet and search for web host that fits your needs.

I also like Fotki or dotphoto where you can create unlimited photo albums online, share it to friends, you can even co-brand with your existing site and most of all be able to buy actual prints of your photos (cheapest price online). In Dotphoto, you can even sell your photos.

Or check your local internet provider, they should provide free website.

Goodluck!

//www.deviantart.com is also a nice place for free postings ... you can kinda create your own website through them and post photos, images, poems, what not ... and people can comment and stuff on them too ...

hopefully that helps :)

You can go to www.photo.net
They let you post single and entire folders.
YOu can post 100 photos for free. If you want to pay I think you can post unlimited. That is the post I use for the web. Little slow to load, but I am ok with it.

This is my photo.net page

Try www.123freehost.co.uk. You get a selection of templates to choose from and the first page is free. I use it to link to all my albums at www.picturetrail.com. Take a look at my efforts at www.123freehost.co.uk/sites/ftm if you get a chance. Cheers!

Does anyone know how these "Free" sites feel about using them to sell items?

i dont use the free sites, but im guessing they are riddled with popups, popunders and all kinds of other anoying advertising quirks.

pbase is free of all that nonsense so far as I can tell.

pBase has no ads, is fast, reliable, easy to use, but may no longer [or much longer] be completely free; but it should be very cheap and worth it...

Sites like Ofoto and Shutterfly allow virtually unlimited free storage (and reasonable printing servies), but I don't think you can link to the images or make them "public" -- I think you have to specifically invite people to view an album. They are ideal for family photos.

Pbase is so good I decided they were worth $40. It has to cost quite abit to produce such a good site and I want Pbase to stay around. Help support Pbase!

Last I heard pBase is still a one-person operation, now hosting nearly 10 million images.
