A boat has a ladder that has six rungs, each rung is one foot apart. The bottom rung is one foot from the water. The tide rises at 12 inches every 15 minutes. High tide peaks in one hour. When the tide is at it's highest, how many rungs are under water?

heres another one...(hopefully I'm telling it at least close to right)
A group of friends go to a restaurant, and to drink they all order ice water, and all get cheeseburgers for their meal. One of them drinks his water quickly and eats quickly then leaves to make it to an important meeting. The others are there for a longer period of time, talking. Later that night everyone in the group except the one who had to leave early is dead. What caused the death?

A man lives on the 12th floor of an apartment building. When he goes out, he takes the elevator down to the lobby. When he come home, if it is sunny, he takes the elevator to the 6th floor and walks the rest of the way up. If it is raining, he rides all the way to the 12th floor. Why? |

Yeah! And if it's sunny he walks to work, but if it's raining he takes a cab and walks up half the flights to get his daily exercise! I like that a lot better than the usual answer that Quickshutter posted. |

It's my favorite too, probably because of the total befuddlement one gets before discovering the answer. I remember the first time I heard it; we were at a party asking each other riddles. This one stumped me... |

#1
Two men are vying for the hand of the same woman. They go to her father, and he quizzes them in the usual manner. They both pass with flying colors, and so he is perplexed. So he takes them both aside and says, "You both are equally fit to marry my daughter, I cannot make a decision. So I'll give you one last test: Of the two of you, the one who's horse makes it to the city of Alujahan last shall win the hand of my daughter."
They both jump on their horses and start riding through the desert. One year passes, then another. Neither has made it within even the 10 mile vicinity of Alujahan. Finally, while nearing the 3rd year, one suitor turns to the other and says, "I know the location of a wise old man, not far from here. We're not getting anywhere and I'm starting to get homesick. Let's talk to him to see if he knows what we can do."
The two of them reach the old man and tell him the story. The old man thinks for a second, then whispers something to the two of them. Soon enough they're running outside and the horses sprinting for the Alujahan city limits.
What did he tell them?
and for a second

The thing about "what color is the bear" questions is that the only possible answer can be white. The only place in the world that only has one color of bear just has white ones. :-)
